The Lucius rods have been designed with toothy predators in mind, like Northern Pike (hence the name) and Musky.
They are fast action rods, with loads of butt power that will deliver your fly, even the bigger half chicken size flies, way out in the horizon – or at least in that direction, and help you battle that trophy predator that just might take your fly on the next outing….
All fitting used are suited for use in saltwater, so the Lucius rods can, without any problems, also be used in areas where Pike is fished for in brackish water.
The fast, yet smooth and controlled action will generate a great feeling of your cast, which is so important when tossing those big air resistant flies.
We designed this series of rods with a deep all black blank with green olive trimmings.
They perform perfectly together with the Pike/Musky flylines and equally well with the color matching A.Jensen Pike fly reel.


9’ # 8
The lightest in the range, for when you like using light tackle. Despite the lower class, it still handles bigger flies quite well and the rod has plenty of power for battling big fish. This rod, of course, performs especially well when fishing areas with smaller bait = smaller flies, such as many of the brackish areas or in some river. In areas where you’re wading, and need to cover as much water as possible with long casts, the 8 weight is also the perfect choice.

9’ # 9
In the mind of many, the 9 weight is the “go to” size for a pike rod. It handles big flies with ease and is still light, so you can keep casting a full day with no or minimum fatigue. The 9 weight’s powerful action ensures convincing delivery of big flies at distance. It is also a great rod for flicking poppers during high summer or precise presentation of even biggest flies in tight holding spots along the margins of the river or lake.

The big gun in the range, and the choice if you’re in search of Musky in North America. Fishing for pike it is the choice if you toss the biggest monster flies, which it handles with impressive ease. It is the rod to choose when fishing big waters with big fish. The superior and brute power of the blank makes it ideal if you fish with sinking lines on the bigger lakes, which really requires a powerful rod. Despite the high class, it is quite light and very well balanced, so it is amazingly easy to handle.
