Description

I’m selling this J bass made in Japan lawsuit era just because I don’t use it that much and I have one pretty similar. lovely instrument, built quality is excellent.

Diamond J-Bass
A Japanese-built Jazz Bass copy from the early 1970s. It still features the original Alnico pickups, which are designed like the early Fender Tele Bass pickups. The bass is in good condition and has just been fitted with new strings. Additionally, it is not quite as heavy as some versions of the Jazz Bass.
Where does the Diamond name come from?
Morris Guitars in Nagano, Japan, has been building guitars for many years. The founder, Toshio Moridaira, was the first to import both Fender and Gibson guitars to Japan. In 1964, Toshio visited the Gibson factory in Kalamazoo, Michigan, where a Gibson employee gave him the nickname "Mori." When Toshio Moridaira established his guitar factory in Nagano in 1967, he built upon that nickname and called his company Morris Guitars. Many different copies of American electric guitars were built there.
Toshio Moridaira marketed guitars and basses under various names inspired by his own name, such as Arai, DIA, Morris, and Diamond.
