In tegenstelling tot de espresso (snel) mokka van bv Alessi of Bialetti, neemt deze zijn tijd om naar beneden te druppelen… en ondertussen op zijn Napolitaans gezellig te praten en te wachten op de heerlijke koffie. De eerste versies van de Napoletana is ook 100 jaar ouder dan de mokka van Bialetti. Voorheen was koffiezetten een onhandig karweitje: bonen werden veelal rauw gekocht en vervolgens thuis geroosterd en gemalen. Daarna werd de koffie gekookt in water en werd de drab er met een lepel uitgevist. Deze manier van koffie zetten en drinken kennen we nu als ‘Turkse koffie’. De Napoletana verenigde de drie fases van het koffiezetten in één object: water koken, laten trekken en zeven.

Contrairement à la cafetière expresso rapide comme celle d'Alessi ou de Bialetti, celle-ci prend son temps pour couler... tout en bavardant à la napolitaine et en attendant le délicieux café. Les premières versions de la Napoletana sont également 100 ans plus anciennes que la moka de Bialetti. Auparavant, préparer du café était une tâche maladroite : les grains étaient souvent achetés crus et ensuite grillés et moulus à la maison. Ensuite, le café était bouilli dans l'eau et les résidus étaient retirés avec une cuillère. Cette méthode de préparation et de consommation de café est aujourd'hui connue sous le nom de "café turc". La Napoletana a uni les trois phases de la préparation du café en un seul objet : faire bouillir l'eau, laisser infuser et filtrer.

Unlike the quick espresso moka pots like those from Alessi or Bialetti, this one takes its time to drip down... while chatting Neapolitan-style and waiting for the delicious coffee. The early versions of the Napoletana are also 100 years older than Bialetti's moka. Previously, making coffee was an awkward task: beans were often bought raw and then roasted and ground at home. Then the coffee was boiled in water and the grounds were skimmed off with a spoon. This method of brewing and drinking coffee is now known as "Turkish coffee". The Napoletana brought together the three stages of coffee making into one object: boiling water, steeping, and straining.
