A fine Chinese kraak porcelain plate from the Wanli period (1572–1620), Late Ming dynasty, decorated in underglaze cobalt blue.The central medallion features a striking flying phoenix (Vermilion Bird) set within a landscape including bamboo and a pagoda, rendered in a lively and expressive style. The phoenix, one of the Four Sacred Creatures in Chinese mythology, symbolizes harmony, prosperity, and renewal.The rim is divided into panels containing auspicious symbols, a typical feature of kraak porcelain produced for export.
