The exterior is delicately incised with two five-clawed dragons pursuing the flaming pearl amidst scrolling clouds, a traditional imperial motif symbolizing power, wisdom, and prosperity. The inside has a carved phoenix.The recessed white-glazed base bears an apocryphal six-character underglaze blue Guangxu reign mark reading (Da Qing Guangxu Nian Zhi), "Made during the Guangxu reign of the Great Qing."
