This Minolta 7000 is the first autofocus SLR-camera developed by Minolta and introduced in 1985. In addition to autofocus, this camera has manual, aperture priority, shutter priority, and program modes.With this camera Minolta introduced the A-Mount for the first time. Minolta decided to put the electrical focus-motor in the camera using a physical coupling to the lens. This kept the cost of lenses low, and helped minimize noise. This was not just a manual focus camera with autofocus added. It was truly a revolutionary camera that redefined what an SLR was with the addition of computer chips in the camera body, lenses, and accessories. These controlled the camera functions for optimal results. This level of sophistication had not previously been brought to market. The camera comes with a Minolta AF 35-70mm/4 zoom with macro switch. Its zoom setting ring serves in macro mode as manual focusing ring. The lens includes a lens hood.
