Description

The boat, an 8.35-metre-long, 2.50-metre-wide clinker-built vessel with a long keel (1.10-metre draught), was built in 1972 to a design by Lehfeld from African mahogany and has been in our possession since 1993. The frames are made of oak, whilst the cockpit and deck are clad in teak. The mast and boom are made of laminated hemlock. The rigging consists of two 8 mm thick forestays and backstays, as well as one upper shroud and two lower shrouds. The 2-cylinder Yanmar diesel engine was fitted in 1984 and runs very reliably. Fuel consumption is approximately 1.5 litres of diesel per hour. There are two berths in both the saloon and the forward cabin. In the saloon, the berths can be converted into a cosy double berth (1.40 x 1.90 m sleeping area) by lowering the table. A Portapotti is fitted in the forward compartment. The galley comprises a two-burner gas hob, a stainless-steel sink, a crockery cupboard and additional storage compartments. The interior is lit by six electric lamps and a paraffin lamp. The storage spaces beneath the berths, a wardrobe and two other cupboards provide ample storage for four people. In the aft storage locker, alongside the sails, an Engelbox has been installed to serve as a fridge. With the two 100 Ah batteries, which were replaced in 2023 and 2025 (battery load switch for separate use, charger and 220 V socket provided), we are often self-sufficient for more than four days whilst underway without shore power. Above the chart table, a switch and fuse panel and an older marine radio have been installed. An electric tiller steering system is fitted as the autopilot. The hull was completely refurbished in 2020 and given five coats of a two-component epoxy resin primer. The superstructure is regularly treated with varnish oil and white paint. During the winter, the boat was always stored in a boathouse or under a tarpaulin on the trailer. In the summer, a full cover protects the boat from the elements and significantly reduces maintenance costs :-)) We very often receive positive comments about the boat’s excellent condition. Other equipment: 1 permanently installed compass Echo sounder Logbook Stern wheel Horseshoe fender 4 fenders and mooring lines 4 kapok cushions 2 anchors Radar reflector at the masthead Sun awning Full tarpaulin VDI lighting Winter tarpaulin Further technical details and photographs available on request Due to our advancing age, we are now looking to hand over our boat to caring new owners. If desired, the boat can be viewed in Zeeland (Herkingen Harbour) and a trial sail can be arranged.
