With the Scarab, you can dial in George Harrison's "What is Life?" tone with the bias, fuzz, and fat settings relatively low. You can get into Gilmour territory with controls somewhere in the middle. Or, you can play Queens of the Stone age tunes until you're blue in the face with controls maxed. Notably, the Scarab plays well with every amp I own: a Vox, Fender, and Peavey 5150, Its EQ is clear and articulate; single notes bloom into harmonics magnificently with single coils and humbuckers alike. This versatility was a nice surprise and quite unlike most other fuzz pedals on the market (Big Muffs, Fuzz Faces, etc.). The Scarab is a keeper and I would not hesitate to buy it again.
