"This is a book that I didn't expect much from, but decided to try it since I wanted to give some '70's science fiction a try. And I was pleasantly surprised; the hero is believable in the situations he is thrust into (all Space Opera types of situations), and the story covers a lot of ground, showing the hero growing, and facing tragedy multiple times, but overcoming it, until finally accepting his fate, which I won't reveal.
The only problem is that so many events occur that the reader doesn't get time to get his/her breath before the next situation is cropping up. Most books are far too long nowadays, but this one was too short. "
