Description

Hergé - Le Petit Vingtième 36 - B - EO (1935)

This booklet of August 8 is quite exceptional in the collection of more than 600 booklets 'Petit XX' published between 1928 and 1940.

It does not have the centerfold "Tintin en Extrême - Orient ", but is entirely devoted to the accidental death of Queen Astrid, in a car accident in Switzerland, which underscores the emotion of Belgian people in 1935. This accident occurred barely 18 months after the accidental death of King Albert, at a meeting of mountaineering in the South of Belgium.

Hergé and the redaction of the petit XX have therefore decided to offer readers a booklet in tribute to Queen Astrid, without illustration. This booklet has often been kept by the parents of young readers, and out of "Le Lotus Bleu", which explains its current rarity.

Essential booklet to complete the collection 'Year 1935'.
