The NetScreen-5XP's untrusted interface can be automatically assigned an IP address using PPPoE and DHCP, common in DSL and cable networks. The NetScreen-5XP supports 2, 000 concurrent TCP/IP sessions and 10 active VPN tunnels. The NetScreen- 5XP offers near wire-speed firewall and 3DES performance over its two 10Base-T ports.
