The story of Argentinean composer and bandoneón virtuoso Astor Piazzolla (1921-1992), creator of the 'Tango Nuevo', which brought Argentina's dance of passion, grace, and sexual power to concert halls across the globe. The film features performances of three of Piazzolla's works performed by the man himself with his Quintet (Alvaro Pierri on guitar) accompanied by the Cologne Radio Orchestra conducted by Pinchas Steinberg, and interviews with Piazzolla about his life, his career, and the irresistible phenomenon that is tango. Musical pieces include: 'Double Concerto for Guitar, Bandoneón and String Orchestra', 'Concerto for Bandoneón, String Orchestra and Percussion' and 'Adios Nonino - Tango for Bandoneón and Orchestra'.
