The Seamaster name was used by Omega for a huge range of watches including dive and dress pieces. This is a very nice example of a dress watch that was originally sold to a member of the US military as demonstrated by the Army and Airforce Exchange receipt (sold in 1970 for $83!) and the original guarantee booklet also has the Exchange stamp.

This is a large size 36mm dress watch in steel with a lovely silver circular-brush finished dial. The pie-pan dial features both day and date in a window at three o’clock. The watch is fitted with a steel bracelet reference 1069 with 524 endlinks.

The watch comes with an Omega archive extract that confirms that the watch was made in 1968 and delivered to Japan. The automatic movement has been fully checked and regulated by our watchmaker.

We love offering watches with interesting stories such as this Omega Seamaster. We wonder what its next adventure will be. Get in touch!

With a rich history spanning over 70 years, the Omega Seamaster is one of the most well-loved dive watches in the world. First released in 1948 as a watch for ‘town, sea and country’ to celebrate Omega’s 100th anniversary, it has become a true icon in the sports watch world and is the longest running series still in production at the Biel-based manufacture.

As well as being used by divers including the legendary Jaques Cousteau, the Seamaster has been the standard issue timepiece of several military organizations (including the SAS) and since 1995, has been the official watch of none other than James Bond. Over the years, the Seamaster series has grown significantly, encompassing sub-series such as the Planet Ocean and Ploprof that cater to more specific applications and purposes such as saturation diving. Today you can buy a Seamaster watch in a variety of colours and functions to suit your needs, which make it not just one of the most versatile watches in the Omega catalogue, but across the industry as a whole.
