The Breitling Chronomat B01 42 was introduced in 2020. A complete revamp of Breitling's evergreen, this new version sports a sleeker case with more clearly defined angles, a redesigned bezel, and the option of a brand-new 'Rouleaux' style bracelet. Inside ticks Breitling's in-house B01 movement. Reference AB0134101G1A1 has a stainless steel case and a blue dial.

Introduced in 1941, the Breitling Chronomat was the first watch to feature the patented slide rule bezel and was the precursor to the famed Navitimer series.

It was a truly revolutionary watch, combining a chronograph with a slide rule calculator that enabled complex calculations to be made quickly and without the use of additional equipment.

The Chronomat continued to be produced alongside the Navitimer until the late 70’s when it was removed from the Breitling catalogue during the sale of the company. It would eventually return in 1984 with a refreshed design, minus the slide rule to differentiate it from the Navitimer, and bring it up to date with modern trends.

Today the Chronomat is available in 10 different styles with a variety of dial colours as well as mixed metal options. Though missing the slide rule that originally made it famous, the DNA of the series is very much there and the Chronomat continues to be a popular choice for chronograph collectors the world over.
