A charming and elegant antique wall-mounted letter holder, dating to circa 1900, with a beautifully shaped wooden construction and richly decorative metal ornaments.The holder features two separate compartments, traditionally intended for letters, correspondence, documents or other small items. The warm-toned wood has a naturally aged appearance and an attractive patina, while the gently curved backboard and shaped compartments give the piece a refined and distinctly period character.Particularly appealing are the ornate central metal appliqués, featuring delicate floral and scrolling details, together with the smaller decorative metal fittings along the lower edges.
