Early impression from the first edition published in Paris by Israël Henriet. Before all rework. From the earlies impression available, a second state while the first before the publishers address of Israël is only known from a few examples (R.R.R.R.)


With the watermark 'huchet' showing a post horn as called for by Lieure to be found on these early (first) Paris impressions. Before any rework, before altered titles, before text.

Four oval scenes, related to June; saint standing with a lily iand Christ child seated on an open book in left hand (St Antony of Padua's Day); a Bishop saint with bird perched on his left arm (St Basil the Great's day); two men stoninga kneeling saint (St Barnabas' Day); hermit with his hair and a loincloth of leaves in the wilderness (St Onuphrius'Day). c.1632/35

Etcher and draughtsman, born Nancy. Working in Rome and Florence for the Medic; 1621 to Nancy, where he settled and married. Died suddenly in 1635. F
