Impressive large antique bronze crucifix with exceptionally rich decoration, dating from the late 19th to early 20th century.
The cross is extensively decorated on both the front and reverse with raised floral and foliate ornament, rosettes and Gothic-inspired motifs. The finely modelled figure of Christ is mounted over an elaborate pierced foliate aureole, giving the piece considerable depth and presence.
Unlike many decorative crucifixes, the reverse of the cross is also fully ornamented.
