Deze Chevrolet is in 1931 gefabriceerd in Oshawa in de staat Ontario, Canada. De carrosserie is gebouwd door 'Fisher'. Omstreeks 1994 werd de auto uit Canada geïmporteerd naar Nederland door een verzamelaar. Sinds 1997 is de auto in bezit van de huidige eigenaar: een liefhebber die de auto altijd met passie verzorgd en gebruikt heeft. Zo is aan meerdere clubritten meegedaan zoals naar Duitsland en Parijs, zonder dat de auto teleurstelde. Deze is dan ook goed onderhouden: de motor is preventief gereviseerd bij een gerenommeerd bedrijf. Ook is een nieuwe radiateur gemonteerd en remvoeringen vervangen. Het cabriodak en de banden zijn zo goed als nieuw. De kleurencombinatie van de carrosserie is prachtig en maakt de auto een opvallende verschijning. Dit wordt versterkt door het beige-kleurige cabriodak en de 'whitewall'-banden. Door de 'rumbleseat' (ook wel schoonmoederszitje genoemd) open te klappen kunnen twee extra passagiers mee. De grote koplampen, spaakwielen en koffer achter op de auto zijn kenmerkend. Naast de betrouwbare technische staat bevindt de auto zich ook optisch in een fraaie staat. Ook het interieur bevindt zich in onberispelijke staat. Kortom, een probleemloze 'prewar-car' die in elke rit koppen zal doen draaien. Het model met de soepele 6-in-lijn motor staat bekend om haar relatief comfortabele rijeigenschappen en maakt dit een gewild model, zeker in de Sport Roadster uitvoering zoals wij mogen aanbieden.

De Chevrolet Series AE werd gebouwd in 1931 en volgde de series AD uit 1930 op. Dit model kreeg een iets langere wielbasis, maar de opvallendste wijziging ten opzichte van zijn voorganger was de toevoeging van het adelaar-ornament boven op de grille van de auto. Het model was leverbaar met veel verschillende carrosserieën, die gebouwd werden door Fisher. Ondanks de 'Great Depression' bouwde Chevrolet in 1931 ruim 600.000 auto's, waarmee in hetzelfde jaar de 8 miljoenste auto gefabriceerd werd. Chevrolet produceerde in 1931 ca. 20.000 cabriolet uitvoeringen. De AE beschikt over een 3.2 liter 6-cilinder motor met 50 pk. De cabriolet behaalde een topsnelheid van 137 km/u, hetgeen voor deze tijd een knappe prestatie was. Chevrolet adverteerde destijds met de slogan 'A Six for the Price of a Four'.

This Chevrolet was manufactured in 1931 in Oshawa in the state of Ontario, Canada. The bodywork was built by 'Fisher'. Around 1994, the car was imported from Canada to the Netherlands by a collector. Since 1997, the car has been in the possession of its current owner: an enthusiast who has always cared for and used the car with passion. It has participated in several club trips, such as to Germany and Paris, without the car disappointing. It has therefore been well maintained: the engine has been preventively overhauled at a reputable company. A new radiator has also been fitted and brake linings replaced. The Chevrolet Series AE was built in 1931 and succeeded the 1930 Series AD. This model received a slightly longer wheelbase, but the most notable change from its predecessor was the addition of the eagle ornament on top of the car's grille. The model was available with many different body styles, which were built by Fisher. Despite the 'Great Depression', Chevrolet built over 600,000 cars in 1931, producing the 8 millionth car in the same year. Chevrolet produced about 20,000 convertible versions in 1931. The AE featured a 3.2-litre 6-cylinder engine with 50 hp. The convertible achieved a top speed of 137 km/h, which was a handsome achievement for the time. At the time, Chevrolet advertised the slogan 'A Six for the Price of a Four'.
